At Car Seat Installers, we want to make sure that you have the best possible experience when it comes to installing your car seat. That's why we use our vast experience, along with the information you provide us in your booking form, to check for any compatibility issues before your appointment. To ensure a smooth installation, we kindly ask that you fill out the booking form accurately when making your reservation. If we notice any potential problems, we'll reach out to you ahead of time to let you know.
This way, we can ensure that everything goes smoothly on the day of your appointment. However, please note that there may still be some instances where your vehicle seat and child car seat design don't match, or that a proper installation isn't possible. In these cases, we will work with you to help you find a better option that works for you. You would be required to pay for your appointment.
Ensuring your Car Seats are valid For Use
The law restricts the installation of certain car seats, including:- Expired Car Seat (Learn more)
- Car seats that have been involved in a vehicle accident
- Car seats not Canadian approved. (all car seats purchased in Canada from a retailer are approved)
To ensure that your appointment goes smoothly, please reach out to us before booking if you have any questions about the validity of your car seat. If during the appointment, it is determined that your car seat is not valid for use for one of the above reasons, you will be required to pay for your appointment.
Your Child Must Meet the Mandatory Requirements of your Car Seat
Car seats have specific weight, height, and age requirements set by the manufacturer. If you have a multi-stage seat (convertible, 3-in-1 or child/booster), each stage will have its own requirements. It's important to follow these guidelines.
For young children, we recommend keeping them rear-facing as long as possible (minimum of 2 years). By law, a forward-facing seat can only be used for a child over 22 pounds and 1 year of age. Some seats may have stricter requirements, such as the child being 2 years old to face forward.
Make sure your child meets the requirements of your car seat model before booking. Check the stickers on the side of the seat and the manual for details. If your child doesn't meet the requirements, we won't be able to install the seat. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out to us before booking. A fee will apply if it's determined that the seat isn't valid for use at the appointment. Contact us with your car seat model number and your child's age, weight, and height if you have questions.
Side by Side Installation
If you'd like to have 2 car seats installed side-by-side, please let us know in the comments section at the time of booking. We'll contact you prior to your appointment to confirm if it's possible to safely install them.
