Car Seat Compatibility For Installation Appointments
We want to make sure that you have the best possible experience. That's why we use our vast experience and the information you provide us in your booking form to check for any compatibility issues before your appointment. To ensure a smooth installation, please fill out the booking form accurately when making your reservation. If we notice any potential problems, we'll reach out to you ahead of time to let you know. This way, we can ensure that everything goes smoothly on the day of your appointment.
However, please note, there may still be some instances where your vehicle seat and child car seat may make for a poor installation or won't work. In these cases, we will work with you to help you find a better option that works. You may be required to pay for your appointment.
Ensuring your Car Seats are valid For Use
The law restricts us from installing car seats such as:
- Expired Car Seat (Learn more)
- Car seat previously in a vehicle during an accident.
- Not Canadian approved ( all car seats purchased from retailers in Canada would be approved)
To ensure that your appointment goes smoothly, please reach out to us before booking if you have any questions about the validity of your car seat. If during the appointment, it is determined that your car seat is not valid for use for one of the above reasons, you will be required to pay for your appointment.
Your Child Must Meet the Mandatory Requirements of your Car Seat
Car seats have specific weight, height, and age requirements set by the manufacturer. If you have a multi-stage seat (convertible, 3-in-1 or child/booster), each stage will have its own requirements. It's important to follow these guidelines.
For young children, we recommend keeping them rear-facing as long as possible (minimum of 2 years). By law, a forward-facing seat can only be used for a child over 22 pounds and 1 year of age. Some seats may have stricter requirements, such as the child being 2 years old to face forward.
Make sure your child meets the requirements of your car seat model before booking. Check the stickers on the side of the seat and the manual for details. If your child doesn't meet the requirements, we won't be able to install the seat. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out to us before booking with your car seat model and your child's age, weight, and height.
Side by Side Installation
If you'd like 2 car seats installed side-by-side, please let us know in the comments section at the time of booking. We'll contact you before your appointment to confirm if it's possible to safely install them.

3 Across Installation
For 3 car seats across one vehicle bench, please reach out to us first at info@carseatinstallers.com or call us at 416 882-4248. We'd be happy to assist you.
